Madhyam has produced/presented 7 films, about 9 public
service spots, and 3 process documentation
videos in the last decade. The issues have
ranged from empowerment of women, violence
against women, child sexual abuse, child labor,
and enrollment of children in schools. These
have been used extensively in our own campaigns
and also by other NGO’s. All the films
have been screened on both local and national
channels, both governmental and private, (except
the film on child sexual abuse). Three of our
films have won national and international awards.
However with the change in the rules of the
game from Doordarshan turning into Prasar Bharthi,
spaces for public service films shrunk and
therefore Madhyam has decided to stop producing
and to start using as a policy.
